Residential Steel Buildings

Filed under: Steel Buildings Differences — Steel Buildings Editor @ 8:07 am

In commercial construction, it is not unusual to see steel buildings being erected on-site. Steel – both durable and easy to work with – has versatility unrealized by many other building materials on the market. The affordability of steel is also, obviously, a significant selling point when it comes to building projects.

But more and more, we are seeing the signs of steel crossing commercial borders and settling comfortably in residential construction. The properties of steel that make it so popular in commercial construction – sturdiness, resistance to elements, ability to withstand heavy loads, versatility, and affordability – are what make steel buildings just as attractive as residential features.

In a residential capacity, steel buildings are used for everything from sheds and garages, to extra storage, and even homes themselves. Steel construction is far more affordable than traditional building materials, and the construction process itself is far faster. As many steel buildings are pre-engineered and fabricated, the homeowner has the ability to actually design their house while the materials are still at the factory. The components of the home are arranged at the factory so that on-site construction is little more than a large assembly process. Customers even have the ability to choose the type of siding that they would like on their home.

While the home may look like any other from the outside, its steel framework differentiates it from traditional construction. Steel buildings of this variety are resilient, high-quality, affordable, and comfortable for commercial and residential buildings alike.
